CURRENT STATUS

Urban Centre Mumbai is currently carrying out a photo documentation of Heritage buildings and precincts from the 1995 and 2005 listings to evaluate the current status of these sites. This effort aims to systematically capture and evaluate the current physical and architectural status of these historically significant sites.

ISLAND CITY

PILOT STUDY - WARD D

Ward D in Mumbai includes areas like Malabar Hill, Tardeo, and Grant Road, known for upscale residential zones and prominent landmarks such as Hanging Gardens and Girgaon Chowpatty.

PILOT STUDY - WARD L

Comprises Kurla West, Nehru Nagar, and Saki Naka, traditionally industrial with increasing residential development and transport nodes.

PILOT STUDY - WARD H

Covers Santacruz East, Bandra East, and Khar East, primarily residential zones with emerging commercial and civic institutions. Includes Bandra West, Santacruz West, and Khar West, distinguished by its preserved bungalows, churches, and evolving art culture.
